Student Visa for the USA from Dubai
Many students aspire to study at the best colleges and universities in the world in order to pursue their dreams. However, it is very well known that most students find their dream institute outside their native country. However, in such cases, a student visa(student visa for the USA) comes deems to be useful. The processing fee of the visa varies from 4-6 weeks.
People cannot study after entering on a visitor visa or Visa Waiver Program. For the purpose of study, one needs to apply for a student visa. The USA provides two types of student visas depending on the course of study of immigrants. The most basic and obvious requirement for getting a student visa is that the student should be selected in the required institute. After that, the institute must be certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. The types of student visas issued by the Government are –
1) F STUDENT VISA
The F1 visas are given to citizens who opt for a full course of study. The F2 visas are given to their dependents (spouses and children)
2) M STUDENT VISA
The M1 visas are given to students pursuing vocational or no academic studies. These students are not allowed to work during their course of study.
The USA also provides J Exchange Visa for participation in exchange programs.
WHERE TO APPLY
All visa applicants from Dubai have to apply at the US Embassy or the Consulate General which is in Dubai.
PROCESS
1) Person should find out where to submit the application in Dubai.
2)Completion of the application form which can be done online.
3) Payment of the visa fee which costs around 160 dollars.
4) Appoint a US visa interview in Dubai for the approval of the visa.
5) Gather the documents required for the application for a visa.
6)Attend the visa interview. Children under 13 and people above 80 are generally not required to attend the interview.
In case you fail in getting the visa, you may apply again but you have to pay the application fee again. It is non-refundable and non-renewable in case of rejection.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT VISA FOR THE USA
After being accepted into the institute, you will receive a Form I-20 from the institution’s international student office. This form is a record of your information in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
Things required for visa application –
1) Passport – valid for at least 6 months more than your stay period
2) Approval by SEVP and 1-20 form
3) Application of fee payment for SEVIS
4) Photographs
5) Non- Immigrant Visa Application
6) DS – 160 form confirmation
7) Academic preparation documents
8) Bank statement
9) Medical report
You can fill DS-160 form online through the Consular Electronic Application Centre. It is required to schedule the Consular Section appointment. The Consular Officer will decide whether you are eligible for the visa after the interview.
THE F1 VISA
The F1 Visa can be understood by following points –
1) It is for students who require more than 18 hours of study in a week. The spouse/ children of applicants can apply for an F2 visa, although they are not allowed to work under that.
2) Students need to pay the SEVIS fee for F1 Visa which is 350 dollars, along with the application fee which is 160 dollars.
3) Evidence of financial stability includes tax return from past three years, passbook, salary slip, and scholarship letter ( if applicable)
4) It can be issued up to 120 days before starting the course.
5) New students are not allowed to enter the US more than 30 days before the classes start. The continuing students may enter the country anytime.
